I was just looking in the Reader Rides section, and there's some really cool stuff in there.
I'm a big fan of VClassics' super-clean 122: http://classicmotorsports.net/reader-rides/45/
Groon's ZB Magnette: http://classicmotorsports.net/reader-rides/496/
blackrabbit's rally replica Trabant: http://classicmotorsports.net/reader-rides/568/
and JeffT's TVR: http://classicmotorsports.net/reader-rides/431/
Well, my favorite car is this one. http://classicmotorsports.net/reader-rides/83/
That is because it is mine. Go figure.
I do have to agree with you about blackrabbit's rally Trabant. http://classicmotorsports.net/reader-rides/568/
Something about underpowered race prepped automobiles excite me. Racing for me is not about taking 1st place but about participating. Being competitive is not my thing.
Subrew's Formula Vee also gets my vote. http://classicmotorsports.net/reader-rides/453/
You got to admire someone that can stand to have a car he can't drive often.
And ddavidv's Mini 850. http://classicmotorsports.net/reader-rides/452/
I somehow think we can relate to the lack of power but pure fun aspect.
Tim:
Nice choices.
I owned a 144 Volvo and liked it but wanted a PV544 with the B18 engine.
Anything called a saloon can't be bad.
Trabant is high on oddity value.
TVR is low production and cool.
Cheers
Ron
I shoulda said besides your own
What, no love for my two TVR's? :(
I like yours, too. I'm a sucker for any TVR. Jeff's just caught my eye this morning.
So what are some of your favorites?

I'll give one of bravenrace's cars some love. It looks really clean and I'd inquire how much $$$ you would take in exchange for it if I thought I could afford it.

I also like fiatfreak's Lancia Scorpion: http://classicmotorsports.net/reader-rides/482/
Well that particular TVR is in fact for sale.
I do have to admit that it's not as clean as the pic makes it look, but it's a decent car.
Email me at jdvogel@netzero.net if interested.
I can send more pics and details.

"So what are some of your favorites? "
Well that's going to take some effort to answer. See, I pretty much like all cars, which is a real curse, because I'm not Jay Leno! I like old and new, American and foreign, all of them. Looking at the Reader's Rides, I'm having trouble coming up with a standout favorite, although since I am too partial to TVR's, Jeff's is very nice. In fact I considered buying it before he did.
I'll take another long look at the list and try to come back with something.
There are quite a few 'one offs' in there also. It's neat to see some owners sitting on rare and obscure cars.
Okay, I lied. As it turns out, I CAN pick a favorite:

I like this one.

Hey Tim,
I don't know where else on this forum to thank you, and other folks here, for my car being the featured reader's ride right now. I'm honored and glad that some people might like this car as much as I do. It is a great car that I'm proud to own, and I plan to own it for a long time, so maybe one day it'll be an old cool classic like some of the other nice cars here.
I was going through some old photos recently and found some of a vintage type car "race" that was run through the windy roads of Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, must have been about 1979 or so, the cars drove around and behind Memorial Hall; some of the pics I took right in front of Memorial Hall, and one of my favorite is a real nice Marcos...so that brings me to one of my favorites here, marcosv6's 1971 Marcos GT.
I'll scan a couple of those pics and see if I can post them here someplace appropriate.
What some of you may not realize is that several cars have scored full features in our Grassroots Motorsports magazine simply because we first saw them on our Readers' Ride forum. Seriously. You gotta be in it to win it.
How does the selection process for the feature work?
Now you tell me. My stress level just went up!
Tom,
Thanks for the kudos on my Landy. Just so you know I have been a past owner of no fewer than three VW buses, two of which were Westfalias. (Yes, I do have hippie trends!) Actually the Westy was great when I was a bicycle racer, no hotel fees and I always had a dressing room at the race.
There is a great sense of security to sleeping up off the ground, and the Land Rover gets me into places where that is needed. The tent in the picture is an inexpensive one, I wanted to see if I would like it up there while driving and if my wife would like sleeping up there - she loves it and will have me "pop it up" sometimes just to "camp" on our farm.
Driving is another thing... I will eventually be moving it to the back, cutting down the rack so it lowers it about six inches, and adding an enclosure around the bottom for a changing area. I hope that moving it back and dropping it will help the feel on and off the road. If a Land Rover is a brick mine is a brick with a layer of mortar on top!
Inside of the Land Rover will get a fold down dining table for those times when it rains. I have to work on the design as my first did not work.
I have to say that is what I really like about a vintage Land Rover, the versatility - or maybe I should say "change-ability." When I first got this one I really wanted to keep it original as possible. Two things changed that, the very ugly red interior the PO added and the fact that I want to go more places and do more things with it.
It is still a work in progress. But I am getting close to the end. (HA!) I would like to put a 200 TDI engine in it, but that would mean upgrading the rest of the drive train.
Thanks again for the inclusion! I am humbled!
Rousseau's GT6 is one of my favorites. I also like wspohn's Jamaican. Sorry no links, I'm too lazy. My absolute favorite is probably wspohn's Islero S, its just too cool. OK, I'll link to that one.

Glad you guys like both the Jamaican and the Islero!
must be something about that sort of body style!
By the way, we're starting something new in the next issue--long story short, don't be surprised when you see a car from the Readers' Ride section in our magazine. (Hint: More info and a good photo helps your car's cause.)
Man would it be cool to see the Trabbi in the magazine!!! so i added a bit of info on the readers ride page for you guys, and i have
