I want to get rid of some surface rust on LBC and seal the metal before I paint it. In the past I've ground / sanded as much rust as I could see, primed the metal and put on the top coats. I've heard that there are good and bad rust sealers out there to apply before I prime but I've never used of them.
Anyone have info on the Good, the Bad and the Useless?
thanks

Mike,
I've used Por 15 through the years with good success. They make a seam sealer also, which is just a thicker version. Great stuff just don't get it on your skin, you'll have to where it off. Eastwood also makes a good line of products to address LBC rust.

I've used some of the cheaper, over the counter stuff like extend and neverust stuff. If sealed with a good paint job after it seems to work fine. At least so far. If it's under the car or floorboards, I have seen bedliner work will also, especially when used with rust treatment. Por15 is probably the best you can get though.
Looks like POR is the answer.
Thanks
