Who's going? Rupert, you in?

I have only been Road Atlanta once for my Skippy course. Is there a good place to park? Near showers/latrines? Any flood areas?

I'm bringing the Cooper, beer, and my Uncle Jack. Everyone's invited to hang out and get some liquid refreshment.

My car is the red Cooper, #122.

Bumping Leo's questions because I would appreciate guidance as well...

We're only spectating but are bringing a small tent trailer.
Thanks Gordon

Are you racing or spectating?

For spectators there is a lot of good spots. I always camped at turn three growing up and there are bathrooms there with showers, though last time I checked it was only cold water. Another good spot is up at turn 5, there's bathrooms there as well but that area can get pretty crowded.

Road Atlanta has been trying to fix their flooding problem lately, they have dug new drainage, added some trees, etc. The bad spots for flooding are spots you probably wouldn't be camping at for The Mitty but may be forced to camp at for say Petit where space is more limited.

If you do camp at turn three, you are within easy walking distance to vendor village and the pro paddock as well. If you want to go to the support paddock you can just take the walkover bridge in the pro paddock. Easy.

If you are racing I'm not sure how paddocks will be assigned this year, last year they sort of just said go for it. I prefer the pro paddock because it feels larger and it's flat. The support paddock isn't bad though and it has easier to get to restrooms with I think hot water (take note campers).

I'll be there racing my VW Rabbit, #77.

The area behind Spectator Hill can be a good place for camping - near one of the showers, high ground so you don't have to worry about flooding. Same goes for the area just past the vendor village.

Hall County rules don't allow bringing alcoholic beverages in, so make sure they are hidden well enough to give the gate people a sense of plausible deniability.

I'll be there! Turn two is where it's at; I'll be camping all weekend in a tent trailer.

Last I checked, the only warm showers are in the paddock. It's a great idea to bring a pit bike or a golf cart to get around.

Should be a good one this year. We are bringing most of our project cars.

It will be the first outing for the Cooper this year. I just hope I don't have to race with the open wheel cars that are BD and FVA powered cars due to speed the differential.

But I'm looking forward to it!
