I really like these cars. My Dad had a '68, and I thought the styling was really nice. But that car rusted back to earth in 2-1/2 years. But this car wouldn't be used as daily transportation in the rust belt, so it would be a pretty cool car to have, IMO.

Are you talking about the black pedal up at the top of the pic? I know the silver round one is the dimmer switch. My Mustang has the same thing.
Good thing this car is all the way on the other side of the country. If it was close, I'd probably buy it. Then I'd swap in a 390/5 spd, and put some torque thrusts and larger tires on it. That would then be the second all original car I screwed up.
Yes Bravenrace. Tap it once and they flip once, pump it and it squirts and wipes until you let go.
On German cars it's called das Drizzleflappen.
Had one of these as my first car. My grandfather gave it to me, but I didn't appreciate it at the time. I wanted a sports car instead. I remember it being pretty quick up to about 60, then the front got so light it would go into this floating mode. MPG was around 12.
I considered it a boat at the time, now I think their cool.
I don't remember our 68 having that feature, but I wasn't of driving age yet, so maybe I just missed it. Anyone know if that was a standard or optional feature, and was it on the '68's as well?
My first '65 Mustang was an early production car (but non-64 1/2) that had a ton of factory options. It had a small hand lever down on the drivers kick panel. At the time, I thought it was original to the car. I have since been told by a MCA judge and restoration shop owner that it was probably aftermarket.
My '65 fastback was built a few months later and had an electric pump operated by the two speed wiper switch. Both cars used the FoMoCo reservoir bag.

My Mustang is early production also. It was made less than three weeks into production of the '65 fastback, and the build quality shows evidence of it!
I wonder how the horn on the air cleaner got crimped - it looks like someone stepped on it. Love that interior.

Wait a minute...your '65 Mustang has a foot pump for the washer? I thought that was a '67-'68 thing.

if you got that car and did that i would have to drive to ohio and hit you over the head with something.....i would find the largest vacuum wrap machine i could and vacuum wrap it place it in agarage and hope in the year 2060 that another forum member would post a thread "look what i found"

I didn't know you were one of "those" guys, Mark.

jim i try to be a saver not a preserver...its just the things i try to save people think i should throw away

I would be saving it from a boring existence. So we really agree. See how that works??
Currently at 12.7k. I'd love to buy a basically new old car like that and drive it as a DD. At that kind of money it's very possible.
