Krol penetrant is by far the best chemical I have in the shop. It truely does work!  It is pricey, but definitely get what you pay for.

Then comes anti-sieze paste.  Been using Wurth for years.  Every fastener gets a little before going back on (not lug nuts!).

Brake clean is probably 3rd as it is quick and effective on cleaning small parts.

Definitely agree with the brake cleaner. Really effective at what it does–though you sometimes have to be careful what you're spraying it on.
