One of the first things we did, once we got our Spitfire sorted out, was to use it for a tire test. As we outlined in the March 2016 issue of Classic Motorsports, we were surprised to learn how well Coker’s classic Michelin tires did when compared to modern tires.

What also surprised us was how fun to drive and reliable our little Spitfire was. We wailed the ever-loving crap out of that poor little car with no major ill effects.

We did learn that we will need to make some modifications to the breather if we want to autocross the car on a regular basis, and the suspension will need some work as well if we want to compete with the car very often.
