Probably just me who's interested in this odd size, but found a vendor who'd make a fair price flow formed one if we can get enough interest.
I'd be running it on the fronts of my DC2, lol I'm probably trying to hard to avoid 5 lugging this car.

I ran into this with my e30 a few years ago. I was looking for a 17x9.5 4x100 with a pretty aggressive offset and had to have rotiform custom make a set of their 2pc welded wheels. Wasn't terribly priced but a hefty sum on a cheap car like that.
What wheel were you thinking of having made?
Yeah, kinda sucks. I could jump to a 17x10 or 5 lug it up front and get a RPF1 9.5"
I'm limited to 257 measured tread, so want to maximize a 235 or 245 without getting to extreme.
Phils tire would get them made, he has to order 40, but needs 20 upfront sold(around $230 shipped a wheel). Be around a +43 offset, so hoping I can find a few more Miata guys, got a couple Honda guys.. but we only need/can only fit the fronts, need a smaller width rear that he already has.

Is half an inch really going to make that big of a difference?

I've gone down the "custom run" wheel with vendors before. A certain fancy wheel manufacturer screwed me after I got a well respected vendor to buy in years ago. I wouldn't trust that price or any kind of timeline.

It's optimal for the sizes I'd want to run 235-255 without going to a 10" and more fitment issues.
But yeah 17x9s would also be an option.
I think it's a pretty trustworthy source, and not a one off so the price is inline with his other offerings/and comparable flow formed.
But it's going to be a stretch to get 4 or 5 sets to even get going.

Sounds like you need 10 sets. Not 4-5. Phil's is a trustworthy source, just telling you I've gone through this, but in good taste, I won't call out the wheel manufacturer.
You also have to consider available replacements, which would be a concern for me for a wheels used for competition. Wheels are wear items. Wheels from E will likely be available for years to come vs a one off run of a specialty fit. I can't even get replacements for my street wheels. I bought the last set in the country, if one get's damaged it will be 6-12 months to get another. If you get a set like this, you'll either have to buy some extra's to start, or have to try again in a few years to get more people to sign up for another run.
I'm really not trying to be negative, just trying to share relatable experiences.

All good man. Definitely good points.
So he needs to order 40 weels up front, but 20 need to be paid for. He'd stock the other 20.
I'd grab at least 4(2 for spares). Another guy is in for 2. So 14 wheels left to get it going.
I bent two Konig flow forms last year, I definitely get the wear item aspect for sure.
