1997 A4 2.8 12v 5 speed ac compressor blew up so now I have no Serpentine belt. Winter is coming, itsa challenge build for '22 and it's in New Hampshire so the weather is rarely hot. I'm from Alabama TIA
Sorry, looking for belt size or part number or delete pully info

Your quest for a workaround for this issue reminds me what is involved with this issue. I am not sure most mortals comprehend how much of the front end has to come apart to just gain access to the bad compressor.
Might as well do the cam belt, water pump and crank seal while you have it apart.

E36 M3, that's a berkeley all thing to say to a guy.
Lol, LS swap it is!
Well I just finished doing the ac compressor delete( just for the winter cold in new hampshire)it is very easy you dont even have to put it in the SERVICE POSITION!. just take the old belt off( loosening the tensioner 17mm socket crank clockwise) and buy a Dayco 69.5 inch serpentine belt, got mine at advanced auto parts $26.50 . reroute the belt around staying short of the compressor, its a alittle tight in there but its very do able. Also noticed a little more throttle response as well
As seen here:

I still giggle when I read "service position".
Stampie I could kiss you!
Just kidding, used my grandmother's favorite form of gratitude
That's a 30 valve, different engine, accessories the same?

I was gonna say only if you promise tongue.
Tell me more about that car!!! MO30 and I had a challenge plan to take a A or S6 and make a challenge car from it by adding as much lightness as possible then add as much power as possible. Cut springs to lower it back to a reasonable ride height and then see what else it would need. Maybe bars? Add a rear bar or remove the front bar to try and make it rotate more. AWD we figured would let us run autocross tires and not worry as much about drag tires as the wad would distribute power to all the wheels.

It needs to say assume the service position.
STAMPIE IS THE MAN!
Compressor is bypassed without assuming the position
Sweet, give me about 400 more miles for the new clutch and I'll meet you in Epping, NH at NED for a 1/4 mile race. Or we can go AWD vs AWD and I'll bring the wife's charger...

So we're gonna each drive your car to see who the better driver is? Or Pinks style where I negotiate a 12 car head start?
