Steve, Rob and I are starting to work on the 5.0 Miata we picked up off the 2010 Classifieds a couple weeks ago. Figured out the mounting and at least where the headers will run. Now a whole lot of wiring and trying to figure out some rear end stuff and get it running.
Feel my pain.
If I could afford to order a new stand alone wiring harness from Ford Motorsports I wouldn't have to stay late at nights sorting through all the factory stuff.

Andy is coming.
And he has another top-secret rocket brewing in his Nelson Skunk-Works in his heavily armed top secret development center.
Prediction - it will be quick and make everyone drool.
My prediction. Turbo Honda. Andy loves him some forced induction 4 bangers!
lol

No, anyone is welcome to stop by. 3 teams have already looked it over.

EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD own a gun, AND know how to use it.

I hope not, that would be disgusting.
my wife opened the latest GRM the other day andy, right to the article on your car.
she said
"thats just like the one you want, from that movie!" (american graffiti has been my favorite flick since i was 9)
good job again on the feature. team gutty voted for YOU in challengers choice!
ummm....Im gonna step outside the box and guess whatever andy is bringing is European?
Ok, so I've combed the site a couple times, is there a registration deadline???
Going to pick up my motor this weekend. It'll be slow, but I think a running/driving car will be enough of a start this year....
Im also guessing Non-German??
I'm almost done with the body work on our Challenge car.
Thank goodness the car numbers are NOT magnetic. Let's just say I'll have a full gallon of Bondo on our expense sheet. Hopefully it will be in final prime by Monday.
For the curious it's a SN-95 Mustang, and our team is Hello Kitty Racing (Mustang HK-R). I'll try for photos after the paint is on. :-)
Oddly enough, most of our team are PCA members, but Ford guys at heart.
Challenge entry form is in the mail, finally decided on "gorilla suit racing" as team name. Rejected names include 'doubleplusgood' 'team spleen steam' and 'beer Bob Costas'
Also booked a room at the gateway best western.
The car runs and drives, still working on making it go around corners properly.

Why? We own 3 and we have only shown 2.

Hooray for Gorilla Suit Racing! ansonivan, I've wanted to sit down for a bench racing session with you since the first time I saw a durocco video. I'm glad to finally have that chance. See you in Rocktober.

I will have an answer in your inbox (and on the site) very soon.
The Challenge page has been updated to include the registration deadline. We have some flexibility, but communication is key. If you can't get your registration to him by September 1, he needs to have an email at least with your intentions.
Wanna see it? Let's go!

IMHO: Gorilla Mask Racing > Gorilla Suit Racing.

Who is looking at the "longest drive"?
"Frozen Nuts Racing" is looking at making it this year bringing a YAM (Yet Another Miata). We're debating driving down but 22 hours each way in a ratty Miata is going to be an experience. What we save on gas we'll need to spend on getting a utility trailer (for the race tires and some tools) as well as a hitch.
We'll go for it if we have a fighting chance at the longest drive but I believe a team from the west coast has won it for several years running and they have us by a fair distance.
TIA

I am still planning in driving the saab down from massachusetts, but I really do not care to compete for any awards. I have never towed my car to a racetrack and am not starting now.
Of course, my challenge car has air conditioning, cruise control, cd player, enough room for race tires, tools & luggage inside and averages around 35 mpg highway...
We have 2 options right now
mustang 302 and a stocker 1st gen rx7 .
