So, is it too early to start discussing next year's builds?
bawahahahaha... ive been collecting ideas and getting things done very slowly, but if the Porsche gods smile upon me for once, the 924 / ZAV will finally be there to spread fear and chaos, or hysterical laughter, either way, itll be fun... this year i was "this close" and couldve got it done, but would rather have it right than blow it up first time out
The $08/$10 Husband and Wife Challenge Miata will be back next year. More tuning, more boost, a cage, more tire, drag slicks, a limited slip, and a new look should improve things a bit.
I keep on saying that I will never put myself through it again, but do not be surprised to see me there next year... One great weekend with great people can make a year of blood, sweat and tears all worthwhile.
My son gets married Challenge weekend, wifey says I have to go. If I don't change my mind 100 times or hit the Lottery, I'll be bringing this for $2012.
Dan
I will keep bringing the Beast who eats diffs until I get a good result, this year it will be test and tune until I find some grip
Anyone know how I can ship this cheap across the country? No one has done a Smokey and the Bandit theme yet right?

I have a good idea of what I'm doing. I already have the car, I just have to really plan out what I'm going to do to it.

Brian,
This was the basis of our $2010 entry but we're regrouping for $2011 now. No 3rd gen Hemi though.
I don't have an entry but i'd be willing to offer some free labor in the boston area. I may also still have my econoline around by then, but i'm not sure i'd trust it as a tow vehicle much anymore...
i'll be there, probably in the same '96 probe GT that i ran in '06. two small changes from '06: gutted and turbocharged.
Hmmmm... Watching the Clown have so much fun on my first trip to the Challenge has made me want to compete. If this weren't so far away... http://grm.racingjunk.com/category/1060/Chevrolet/post/2006077/1984-CHEVY-CORVETTE-AWESOME-PROJECT-1895.html

I got the 5.7 for $0. I swiped it from work, swapped in a newer one, with a rod knocking before the JY came back for it. So far only $30 into it so far, new rod bearings straight from the dealer. Not to mention the brand new 5.7 LX intake for $0, it's broken. Three Hemi engine swaps worth of various gaskets for $0. 5.7 starter for $0. Couple of PCM's and wiring for $0. $60 for a SFI flexplate, mates a 727/904 easier, if I decide to go that way. Might try to find a 46RE and use that for some OD/LU abuse on the strip. Just need to figure out engine mounting, exhaust, and some other things into the budget.
