Nice pics! The aerial shots are really cool. When things settle down later, I'll make sure to post some stuff up. For now, I'll just leave this right here...

Cool pic!

The view of the autocross from the top of the drag strip stands is awesome. I've been shooting pics from up there for several years. IMHO, its the best place to see the action.

Great pics. Also, thank you for the diecast model of the datsun.

It was really kind of you to remember my project when you found it.

What is this car?!? Looks like the offspring of an Austin-Healey 3000 and a TR3...

based on the picture of yesterday's results, it appears to be a Swallow Doretti. Wiki says

The Swallow Doretti was a two-seater sports car based on the Triumph TR2, made between 1954 and 1955. The marque came from Swallow Coachbuilding Co. (1935) Ltd. which was sold in 1945 by Jaguar (formerly SS Cars Ltd) to the Helliwell Group which was taken over in 1946 by the British conglomerate, the Tube Investments Group (TI). The Dorreti name was derived from Dorothy Deen, who ran the US dealership Cal Sales.[2] The first and only model produced by Swallow under TI ownership was the Doretti, which had a tubular Reynolds 531 Cromolly chassis with a body made of a steel inner structural skin and aluminium outer. Most cars were supplied with overdrive and they were capable of 100 mph. 276 cars were made, including a single fixed head coupe version. The car was designed by in-house engineer Frank Rainbow, and produced in the TI factory at the The Airport, Walsall, Staffordshire, England. Production stopped in 1955 when the parent company TI changed policy. Allegedly, pressure from the British motor industry, most notably Jaguar itself, led to the cessation of production of the Doretti.

Thanks. It was great talking to people about it. I want to apologize to the guys from Also Ran Racing for being useless to them. I'm really clueless about engines, so I'll try to keep my shop manual handy in the future.

Hey no worries. We found the problem we think. The lights were wired so that it was shorting the ignition.

Some shakycam video from the drags:

Dodge Aries 11.69 This was the fastest time while I was there. Don't know if they ended up going faster.

Honda Civic 12.59 We were pitted next to these guys.

Dodge Neon 14.56 Bill's fastest time of the day. Car has more in it, just needs traction. Of course, its already the fastest car I've ever been a team member on.

I'm gratified to see that the TR3 resemblance I was seeing was real.

For those who were not there, notice JG's comment "First successful run"? You should post the earlier vids Hobie.

Unfortunately I didn't get any of the Swallow's prior runs on tape. Three GoPro's and one suction cup mount was not the right combo for getting everything on tape. I think the only spin I got was the Flying Duece 2.
