All, my sister's had her 2012 Rogue for a few years now.
She called today to ask for help - apparently, for the last weeks or months, on her drive home, after getting off the interstate and slowing to a stop, the car is very sluggish in getting moving again.
Today, it wouldn't hold speed on the interstate. She set the cruise at 70 to see if it was something she's doing, and the cruise kicked off when the car hit 64. In her words, it didn't feel like it was stuttering or missing, it just wouldn't hold speed.
She's taking it in this week, but looking for some perspective on what she might need to expect. I don't recognize the issue, but it sounds almost like fuel delivery? Anyone here recognize the issue?
How warm is it, and how long does she have to be driving before the issue occurs?
There is a tsb relating to the CVT going into limp mode due to overheating on the vehicles without the factory cooler. A scan tool capable of checking tcm data is a big help as you can check the "CVT-A" and "CVT-B" values. Those are basically over temp counters. If they are >4 ish then that's the issue. Nissan's fix is to add an external cooler.

She lives in Georgia - I don't know about operating temps but certainly hot ambient. Sounds like an hour plus of driving.
I'll send this her way, but hopefully they can check that. Is that something Nissan would pay for/fix?
Almost sounds like a restricted exhaust. Blocked cat or failed muffler baffle?

Might be it if the car doesn't have the tow package.
Unfortunately, Technical Service Bulletins are only covered by Nissan for the duration of the basic powertrain warranty.
I've attached a couple pictures of the first two pages of the bulletin that has the correct details.
