There are aspects of this I like and dislike.
The like column gets, better concourse and drag racing at night.
The dislike column gets 2 completely different types of racing for one car in the same day. Even taking the amount of setup change out of the equation, the stress level will be through the roof for someone like me who is a one man team till race day. Even then, I only get a little help swapping tires and such. It's a lot of weight on one guys shoulders.
I also vote Thursday registration if that is open to vote.
You guys are talking like "without registration, there will be no party." Spend $15 on a case of E36 M3ty beer. Sit next to your car...or better yet, next to the hot tub. The party will happen.

We usually show up on Wednesday, hang around all day Thursday until everyone else shows up, and pretty much all day Thursday is a good time. I like that they do the registration on Thursday night because that makes everyone show up at the hotel, and the GRM staff is floating around hanging out too. I remember having some interesting conversations last year on Thursday night with all sorts of people.
Poopy, you going this year? The poolside action was very tame last year, aside from one extremely inebriated individual stumbling around and almost ending up in the pool a few times.
I like the thursday night registration, if it's a cost issue, you can use my easy up and do it in the parking lot, we're all gonna be out there drinking anyhow, and one less thing for us and you to do int he morning.

I need to source up some cheap wheels/shocks, and buy some koomhoes. Really want to do this before I go buckwild this winter with next year's setup.

My reasons have nothing to do with partying and everything to do with how much time I have to decal the car, etc, etc, etc. it just crams way too much into Friday.
I have no doubts partying will happen either way
I'm glad that other people mentioned the decals. It can take time to apply them artfully, and without bubbles. I don't plan to remove them afterwards, so it matters.
I have some from prior years that I have already put on our $2013 car. I like to get as much as possible done before the big show so I can chill out and enjoy. In an ideal world I'd do nothing but roll the car off the trailer, and quick detail before judging.
