o,
I am about to fly to Arizona to buy a car I have never seen in person, which has a full Cortext X-treme grip with Borla full spec exhaust, 19" wheels (I'd like to drop back to 18" if plausible). half roll cage, stock recaro's.
then drive it home.
2100 miles.
With my dad.
We fly out tomorrow night to Phoenix, hope to hit the road by 10 am local time. I do not plan on many stops. I've driven from houston to charlotte so many times that I decided this time to go via Gallup NM (petrified forrest worth seeing?), OKC, Memphis, Nashville, Ashville, home. Unless someone can convince me of a specific reason to go a certain route.
thread to be a follow along as I get the car, then just a maintence blog on a car that's done Optima at least once: https://www.optimabatteries.com/experience/blog/optima's-search-for-the-ultimate-street-car--dean-mesquite's-2013-boss-302-ford-mustang
It now has 32k miles on it or so and I plan to daily it and just enjoy it. It has the red key but it was never activated. And apparently no dealers are able to do so anymore?
I also reached out to Cortex to get an idea of what setup the car needs but have yet to hear back. I'd also like to see if they can track everything that was done, since the article mentions the work being done at their office.
