Yes.

Yes.
By the way, there is an aircooled DAF 33 variomatic pickup sitting (no, no, not inside like this, but outside in the rain) in Georgia.

The left-half of one welded to the right-half of the other?
Man, this sounds like fun! A Nissan hard body with a Frontier supercharged V6 or an SR20 would be my choice, more for the uniqueness than the ability to win. I guess I'm ok with being mediocre.

We have a member who's had an El Camino challenge project for several years now. Hopefully, 2017 will be the year it's ready
This truck + one of these engines + lowering + sway bars + sticky tires - recoup = 2k lb 200 hp autocross truck

Thanks for the humiliation....next year I'm coming for you only this time it won't get stuck in second gear for the entire 1320
Thanks to the Roadmonster's eco-friendly 2.56 rear end, the ol' boat was just starting the 2-3 shift through the traps of every run. At 91 mph
SUPER IMPORTANT QUESTION RELATING DIRECTLY TO THIS THREAD AND ITS READERS:
Does trailer hitch/associated hardware count toward the budget?
If you use it in the Challenge and buy it separate from your truck yes it does count towards budget.
I would be willing to agree that as long as the hitch provides not competitive advantage to the vehicle then it would not have to be part of the budget.
It could also be argued that if you unbolted the hitch from the vehicle the morning of the event then the hitch would not be on the vehicle and therefore not be part of the competition. The only difficulty to this logic is that you might want/need to weld the hitch on so easy removal is not an option.
I presume you need a hitch to haul another, second entry, to the event.
More is good so that would help me see the hitch as exempt.
Of course, it should be stated that the hitch can then not be used for additional "track related" purposes and still remain exempt.
Example, don't just mount a hitch because you need more reward weight distribution and expect the hitch to be free.
This is just my opinion. What do others think?
