I actually like the second one. Is there a build thread?
1) I applaud you guys for last years build.
2) John had posted this image which looks to me like a convertible with the top removed, the tailgate area removed, and a Bed added. Though I think the convert has a side to side top brace that I would leave in. It does appear very truck like, and is possibly less work than relocating a cut off roof. Just sayin'. (Oh and you'll note that most of the PT truck photos do not show it from the side. The the scale is all wrong because the bed is far too short.)

This picture above is actually a screen shot from a video.
An 18 video series of about 4 minutes each.
If started watching them. In the beginning I am a little confused by his first cut (which seems too low) but he does this to accommodate a locking bed cover that he fabricates.
Actually, the bed cover is a trunk lid and he calls the finished product a PT Coupe.
Yes, the standard body as a bed comes out very small.
That stepside looks great but that is a lot of bed fabrication.
I've only driven a PT Cruiser once as a rental probably 10 years ago. I know they are mostly miserable vehicles but I am finding myself oddly attracted to modified versions.

Like I said earlier, this a great way to get involved with The Challenge with a shared commitment requiring less than what a one man campaign requires.
Here is the $2016 PLB Link
"
The more the merrier.
The beauty of the PT cruiser is they are cheap and have a powerful engine that can easily have the boost turned up.
I think the pick upification should be doable in the parking lot and is totally different from last year's build.

I'm still thinking about that.
Foreshadowing...
There have been developments.
Still too early but if you're "thinking of joining" this build you can start to change that to "planning to join" this build.
Thanks John you made it easy for me to find the thread!
Behold! $225 plus fees bought me this fine example of retro awesomeness...
Never before have so many people been this excited about a pt cruiser.
Yes that is a stick shift...
The great thing about PT cruisers is they are so awful a small dent totals them...
...even with relatively low mileage
I already sourced a rear hatch for $50.00.
Coming soon to a parking lot near you the parking lot pick up conversion!

Don't worry this is the "last" one.... Until another great idea is born.
In reply to MrJoshua:
