That's not what I'm talking about at all. That's easily understandable.
What I'm talking about is that they make blue cars and silver cars and red cars, and they make black interiors and grey interiors and tan interiors. But if you want a blue car you can only get a black interior, if you want a grey interior you can only get a silver car, and if you want a red car you can only get a tan interior. If you want a blue car with a tan interior or red car with a grey interior, you are SOL.
This is the precise color selection problem that drove us right out of the Acura dealership. They made 3-4 different color interiors anyway... and then utterly and ridiculously limited which exterior paint colors you could pair them with. And one of those combos was a blue car with a red interior, so you know it wasn't a conservative taste thing.

Ah. Makes more sense. When I left Acura they pretty much had 2 colors of interior (grey or black).

I'd have been fine with that. But if they already make both interiors, why restrict it so that blue cars only come with black interiors and grey interiors only come with silver cars? I have only really encountered that with Asian manufacturers.
And I'm also not talking about what combos dealers tend to order for inventory. I'm talking about the 'Build Your Own' options available on the manufacturer's websites.
TIL it also comes in a limited yellow color. It's the GT version but it packs a LSD normally not available in that trim and doesn't have a sunroof.

Love the looks and honestly the koreans are building good cars now. Just can't pull the trigger on a 40k Kia. It's not a means thing but watching the depreciation of the line I just know I'll be upside down for a long time and it's not worth it.
