C&D has historically posted some incredible real-world MPG numbers in Civics with the 1.5T, good to hear that hasn't changed.

That trunk backpack hanger is awesome, trivial as it is. Little touches like that remind me of Honda's golden age.

$1500 isn't bad compared to the $5-$7,000 I heard lately.

This one feels pimped out to me.  can we still say that?

This has factory accessories: optional wheels and HPD body parts.  No price listed, so I bet they are quite proud of it!

Found a 2018 Si coupe with 8400 miles for 29.9....  sadly I think that's going to be my commuter.  I will be picking it up tomorrow.  The 2022 is faster yes, but the old one has heated seats and it will commute hard!

I ended up with a 2018.  It was a lease car with only 8400 miles.  It'll get commuter chores for quite a while.

Excessive oil dilution problems is one thing I know about. Honda extended the warranty to address it. I'm not an expert as I'm not in the market for a Honda with a 1.5T, but just heard some issues especially in cold climates and/or short drive cycles. Google to learn more, there are a bunch of articles and videos about it.

That's pretty common on all DI engines.  [snip] What do you think probably causes bore scoring in Porsche engines?  It's probably fuel washing the cylinder walls.

AFAIK bore scoring is common on the m96/m97 engines, not the direct injection engines that followed them in 2009.

Take it with a grain of salt-I'm not a porsche guy.

I went to a class to learn how to rebuild M96 engines.  The instructor owns a business that specializes in rebuilding Porsche engines.  I could offer other information, but why try and change the opinions of the internet?

If I buy another Porsche it will be 987.1 Cayman S.

Thank you.  The '22 I have on order will allegedly be built next week.  It'll ship soon thereafter.  I'm tempted to go drive it and trade if it really is so much better.  I'd take a few thousand as a hit, but it is doable.

First commute at 50-70 depending on stretch of road.  I probably average 57 or so on trip.  Mileage is looking promising.

So far, yes.  It has great steering feel and feedback.  It handles extremely well.  The shifter is really good for a cable operated shifter.  The controls and instruments are well placed.  The interface is pretty easy to use too.  The seats are super supportive but comfortable.  The seats might be the biggest issue for some, but then there is the Civic sport.  I feel the stock tires make a lot of road noise for all seasons.  The exhaust is quiet, maybe too quiet.  Other than a few visual tweaks and maybe a muffler I'm leaving this one stock.  It has the fastest ratio steering of any street car I've owned and on some of the winding forest roads on my route, that is a lot of fun.  I wouldn't have to slow for any corners, but deer and logging trucks are real concerns.

The only real knock so far is the cruise does not hold speed as well as my GM cars.  The Tahoe and my Colorado were dead on.  The Si loses and gains with the terrain more than most cars I've driven.  It could be due to only bring 1.5 liters of engine.

The thing that slays me most is how far cars have come.  This thing is as fast or faster than my first 5.0 Fox Mustang 0-60 and 1/4 mile, but it handles and rides so much better all from 1.5L and it is efficient.  Honestly had GRM never tested it, I'd probably have never driven one.  No other car I've seen offers as much fun and 40 mpg.

Well it's partly your fault :).  And you all have some project cars I'd love to have too.  Space and money are real constraints though :).

Also I just topped off the gas tank and got 42 mpg including commuting and weekend errands.

Yes I have a 2022 on order, but isn't here.  I may let it go since I'm not excited to take a big hit on trading this one.  If anyone wants a white 2022 at MSRP it might actually arrive in July...,

Did you test the new car on the high performance summer tires?

I see that there is only a $200 difference between the Si and Si HPT. I'm not sure if there are any other changes other than the tires.

I might now why Si's seem to be hard to find.

Acura Integras - 2 dealers had three on the lot with stick shift. These are higher priced but a dude near me has the one I liked.   Just that $41,000 with tax price hurts....

As an aside I should have a VIN now for the 2022 and I do not.

Exactly!  Honda knows how to maximize profit from the limited amount of manual transmissions.

This might help you find one!        Si's in transit

They seem to be in transit a long time.  Waiting for an available trucker to move them I suspect.  Once they arrive a the dealer, they are immediately sold or marked up and they sit on the lot.
