Does anyone know if the 6th-gen has a better clutch feel than the 5th-gen? I hate driving stick 5th-gens because the clutch pedal is so wonky. You start letting it off and it's light and then it hits a certain point and the pedal stiffness increases drastically and just about kicks your foot off the pedal. I can never seem to get them started smoothly.

I know what you mean. GM put an assist spring (helps push the clutch in), and it stops assisting right about where the clutch grabs, takes some getting used to. After a while, I didn't even notice it anymore. Not had a chance to drive a 6th gen, so no idea if it is different or not.

I didn't find the 6th gen clutch "wonky," but I haven't driven it enough to become accustomed to it either. The engagement point is rather different from my car. It feels like the clutch pedal travels a longer distance overall than might be absolutely necessary. I wonder if that's to mitigate a heavy clutch needed in other models like the ZL1 with 650ftlbs of torque, compared to the 287ftlbs V6 and 295ftlbs I4. ...Or the monstrous 156ftlbs my car makes. :)
I think this is just awesome. I have been waiting for this to come out and as much as I may like it, I am getting to a spot of why now. Mainly, I just picked up a Lotus clone for racing.
If I didn't have that, this is a shortlist car depending on where they put this in the SCCA hierarchy. With the move of the SS1LE to BS *if it happens* this will potentially be put into FS I would think. That could pair interestingly with the M3 and others in class.
I am still too cheap to throw 35k *without a special order, I am sure these will show up at this point* to get one. As much as I like the newer camaros after driving some friends, I still cant get myself to pony out the cash for one. It makes more sense for me to save 1/3 of the price and get an older 5.0 Mustang or Corvette or something to be fun and fast on the street. Or maybe the wife will finally sign off on the R63 before Seth finds another buyer. *still not sure if it needs to sell now or not so I dont have to worry ;)*
I hated the Camaro because of sight lines until I spent some time behind the wheel of the V6 1LE and decided I liked it a lot. Enough so that I'm trying to talk my wife into one. And yes it's about 3400 lbs, but it has 335 hp so it moves very sprightly.
The Aisin gear box has a slight bit of "give" in it, but I'm sure that's due to the exterior gear change mechanism.
If you look over on the HPTuners forum you see there's a good 35-50 hp waiting to be tapped just in tuning.
I don't want any more V8s. I don't want the mass and I don't want to have to worry about the gas gauge when I'm having fun. The V6 ticks all the boxes for me.
All the turbo 4s I've driven of the American manufacturers seem to be weighted towards torque, not hp and run out of steam way too low in the rpm range.

^ I think you mean 35-50hp for the I4 and more like 15-20 for the V6, correct?

That's more in line with what I have seen Snrub, the V6 doesn't seem to gain more than 15-20 on a tune but the turbo does
Trifecta Tunes
V6
" that will yield gains of +17 ft-lbs and +23 WHP (Peak gains of +8 ft-lbs and +22 WHP) to a completely stock Chevrolet Camaro 3.6L LGX" 269hp/230tq
T4
"Specific gains over factory calibration are up to (SAE corrected) 67lb-ft of torque and 80 horsepower, with peak gains clocking in at up to 47lb-ft of torque and 41 horsepower, with no vehicle modifications beyond the calibration." 256hp/274tq

You can really see the character differences with the two engines, the V6 is just flat torque everywhere but builds and builds linear power while the turbo is very U shaped
In reply to Jaynen :
The v6 is quoted around 335 hp at the crank. If the numbers in the chart are true that’s nearly 100hp in driveline losses? Is the trifecta shop at altitude?

Yeah I don't know they were just one company that had tunes for both easy to compare.

No, I mean the V6.
"Things that don't happen for $500, Alex."
Even the V8 cars don't pick up that much with a tune unless you open up the intake, catless headers, full exhaust and dyno tune.

Having driven the V6, it sure does not feel like it is missing any of the 335 HP
