I need a pair or possibly even a set of four 4X108 plain steel wheels for my Austin project. I'm trying to fit a narrowed Capri rear end under it, so the wheels would have to be pretty flat faced, like those on a front wheel drive, you know?

Problem is that I only have room for 13 inch or 14 inch rims in the wheel wells. All I've been able to come up with are the wheels meant for the early Ford escort and these are pretty rare,

I've poked around the internet outlets and most of the suitable sized and off-set wheels are spoked alloys, I just need plain old steelies. Was wondering if maybe a set of temporary spare wheels might work mounted with narrow road worthy tires? Not sure of the strength of the wheels though, maybe the wheels are good to go, but the small tires are the "temporary" part.

Anyone know of another wheel/car that I might look to? Any help at all would be huge !

Thanks—

not much easier to find, but Alfa Spider/GTV wheels are 4x108. If you can find the steel wheels from the 70's, they will be 14x5, I think.

If you know of an Alfa shop, which has a bunch of parts cars- you may find some there. At least the cars were brought into the states, as opposed to the Escorts.

Search for the cars from the 90s- maybe some 15" rims, and if lucky 14".

Didn't many late 80s and some early 90s audis come in 4x108? If you can find them audi 4000 wheels are probably 13in for fwd and 14 for quattro I think. Just not sure when audi switched to 4x108

Tempos were 4x108mm and came with 14x6 steelies.

Handy list http://www.wheelsupport.com/list-of-bolt-pattern-4%C2%A0x%C2%A0108%C2%A0/

Note that 4x4.25 is the same as 108.

Thanks guys, looks like I'm hunting for a unicorn.

Some of the wheels are only available as alloys, others are far too wide. The Austin came stock with 13x4 inch wheels; in order to fit the narrowed Ford rear end under it, I need fairly narrow steel wheels with a flat look to them ala front wheel drive cars. I can go as big as 14 inch wheels but they need to be pretty narrow.

I going to check into a pair of temporary spares, as they're usually around 4 inches wide. An alternative is to use a pair of MG Midget wheels and have a friend move the centers outwards towards the edge to help compensate for the wider rear end/axles.

I'm usually able to hold the cost down on a project but always seem to blow the budget at the last minute on wheels and tires. Strange and a little bit of a pain in the ass I have to say.

Thanks for the help though, much appreciated !

4x4.25 is also close enough.

I couldn't tell you what the offset might be, BUT...

Rock Auto tells me that the spare wheel from a 1987 Ford Tempo is 13x4, with a 4-4.25" bolt circle. Sadly, Rock Auto also lists them as out of stock.

If there are still 4 Tempos in your local junkyard... There's your answer.
