Hows the interior? I know it has a different gauge layout than the 500.

I know yours is a manual, but I would like to find out how dreadful the automatic is going to be. Supposedly it's going to be a DCT.

Also, as for the name, I think it should be called the 600 and the soon to be 500 XL should be called the the 600 Multipla.

Is the rear seat still two across like the 500. I wanted a 500 when I bought my 2 but I needed to be able to buckle the kids in and the car was one buckle short. I'm actually kind of a little excited about the XL if it does indeed come with a third row. Seats 6, turbo, manual. Look! They made a car for my family!

Dont know much about the auto trans. Did you look at the Fiat website? As far as the name goes, you would need to send a letter to the marketing people in Italy. They named it years ago.

Seats 3 in the rear. No third row seat so room for only 5.

That's pretty much the modern euro-car. I was surprised when on a business trip to Italy a few years ago that myself (6'2" 240 lbs) and two of my colleagues (6'4" and 6'6" and just as heavy) comfortably cruised the autostrada at a sustained 145 kph in a newer Punto. It seemed much larger on the inside than the outside. When you realized the tires were about the size of what we have on some mid-sized lawn tractors....

That is one wild looking interior.

I like it better than the PT but not really my style. Seems like it would be right up SWMBO's alley though. She is currently stalking a right hand drive old Mini these days.

Ive never heard that as a rumor anywhere. Youre the first one I have ever heard it from.

I didnt realize you were talking about a different vehicle. When you wrote XL, I was reading L. Looking back through the posts it makes more sense. That link was the first I heard of the XL. Things are usually kept on a need to know basis and the media knows stuff before me in most cases

Today marks the end of week 5 for the L. Im sitting at about 5300ish miles. Still have to make it back home from whatever Missouri town I am in tonight. The guy I am traveling with is not a small car fan but is happy with the room. We have averaged 33mpg over the last 1000 miles or so doing around 75-80.

I seem to be in the minority in that I actually like the styling, which is good since I am paying for the danged thing! However I wish I had a more interesting color than silver.

Saw one in Verde Chiaro yesterday cruising through traffic. Looked surprisingly good, and seeing it in real life it looked much smaller than pic suggest, though definitely bigger than the standard 500.
