I have never seen one of these. but I thought it was cool. What do you think?

Chris

Hi, I'm selling a very rare 1995 Chevy Caprice with a 6-speed manual trans. LT1 350 V8 (similar to the Corvette), 9C1 police package (includes heavy-duty seats, frame, suspension, oil cooler, etc). 4 wheel disc brakes, A/C (works), CD player from an Impala SS, cloth buckets, center console, tachometer on the steering column. 168k miles. Car was purchased from the Lubbock, Texas police department (been a Texas car majority of its life). Very very clean for its age. A couple very small rust spots on the hood, various minor scratches here and there and the front bumper cover has a little spider webbing of the paint. No rust at all underneath or on the frame. Nor is there any rust on the quarter panels as is common on these cars.

The 6-speed trans is from a '96 Camaro Z28, as is the clutch/brake pedals. Swap kit from F2B.com. Have all paperwork for the car all the way back to the window sticker (thick folder full of receipts from previous owner and Lubbock police department). Hurst short throw shifter, new front brakes, recent plugs, wires and GMPP optispark distributor. K&N cold air intake, gutted catalytic converters. Near new tires v-rated. Stainless steel factory exhaust. 4.10 gears with Detroit Locker posi. New battery. Also have new HID kit for the car. Car is wired for a subwoofer and amplifier. I have another CD player and amp I can include if desired. Also have a new set of Edlebrock rear shocks I will include and Flowmaster 44 series stainless steel mufflers.

The car moves pretty good for its size. Huge trunk, full size spare, tons of interior room. Car is rock solid and built like a tank with the police package. Only real issues are the windshield is cracked and it will probably need a new clutch soon.

I'm asking $5000 obo. Believe me, its hard enough to find a clean LT1 caprice, but I guarantee you will NOT find one with a 6-speed trans for this price. If interested call/text 312-451-4067. Thanks!

That's cheap. BigFastCar had/has kits that, by the time you get everything right, would set you back about $4,500-$5000 alone.

whats the big draw for the 6 speed swap?

Obviously you get to row your own gears...what else?

does there need to be any other reason?

you also need to do a gear swap to make up for the first gear ratio.

Think of all the 9c1 LT1 burnout madness. Also, for extra shenangians sake, get her to go sideways and REALLY screw the drift kids worlds

Camaro T56 has .5:1 6th gear, that's why.

If this was an 89, I'd be seeing if he wanted to trade a C4 vette for it.

...And off I go searching the CL for a Caprice. Oh look, there's an '87 wagon complete with wood grain for only $500. Yes I already sent an email. No, I'm not sharing the link to the ad. Yes I already have a wrecked LT1/6speed Camaro donor.
