You know things have come to a hell of a pass when you CAN'T find a cheap four-door Valiant that is green or brown. I thought they were ALL some shade of green or brown (at least most of the 70's ones were).

Nah, they come up quite a bit. But I usually go "Eh I'll wait for a nicer/cheaper one," and MAN they get snatched up quick. Grandma Green is my fave. I dig the black interior on the linked one though.

There was a spotless '69 Valiant Signet 4-door for sale around here for $3800. Don't know if it sold or not. It got moved right before the first snow in the fall. I thought the asking price was on the high end of the scale, but reasonable for being in the rust belt. I know where a mini tubbed '69 2-door Valiant is for sale. Guy is asking $6500. But the quarters have been replaced, it's a 4-speed, interior is done, and has all the pieces to put a V8 in there with it.
Btw, love your car. Hate to do this to you, but this beauty has been on CL for a year or so now. I beta grand would take it!

Now, THAT has potential!

I still prefer the next bodystyle......I cannot stand that rear window. If I could, I'd have bought the 3 I've found sitting in Muncie.
Our opinions greatly differ
I love that back glass and consider any barracuda without it lesser by default.

I won't say I can't stand the aquarium on the early Barracudas, but the '67-'69 notchback Barracuda is HAWT. The original suffers somewhat in comparison.

Eeeewww. No vinyl tops please. IDK if I've ever seen a green one that didn't have the equally hideously awesome matching green interior.
Back in 1976 I bought a '69 2 door Signet sedan for $700/$800. It had the 225 engine, automatic transmission, and an underdash Mopar-brand (dealer-installed?) A/C that looked like it had been kicked by quite a few passengers. A somewhat strange car in that it had 2 "bucketty" seats in front and the front seats had no headrests. Painted that "bottle green" with a green carpet and WHITE seats. I got it as a DD while my Audi was in the dealers for a few months getting a new clutch, and nearly fell over when a co-worker told me he would have sold me his 850 Coupe for a few hundred less.
Every now and then, I see Scamps for sale and sometimes Dusters, with Valiants being very scarse. Prices on Scamps usually run from $1500 to $3500, while Dusters seem to command some kind of "muscle car" premium, even when equipped with a slant 6.
Decent enough cars, but I prefer a car that actually has some steering feel.
Back in the late 80's I got a 71 Valiant from the (then) wife's grandmother when she couldn't drive anymore. Low miles and rust free with just some scuffs in the sides from the bump & feel method grandma had of getting it in the garage. As you'd all expect it was green and had a 225 slant 6, auto, black bench interior.
After a repaint (lacquer) and suspension/steering/brake rebuild it got driven all over the Eastern part of the country to ABA and NBL BMX races till the mid 90's. I drove it fast and regular tires wouldn't last more than 8000-10000 miles so I switched up to speed rated tires. I did experience valve recession from the high speed jaunts without leaded gas (no hardened exhaust valve seats) so I started using lead additive till I sold it to a bud.
If I found another like it I'd buy it.

1968 Plymouth Fury - $850 (lithonia)
1968 Plymouth Fury, needs a new engine but the old one can crank up! Would be a great project. Please call 404-312-5158 for any more information

Yup. Saw it. The fact that it's in Lithonia, combined with the words "crank up!" tells me I don't really want anything to do with it. I bet it smells bad.
