Going to look at an RX7 tonight. What are the problem areas to look for.Owner says it has 106,000 mileson it. Year 1982

Bring a Phillips screwdriver and if the owner lets you, remove one of the bins behind the seats. Look underneath of it for rust.

They rust really bad in between the interior storage bins and rear wheel wells. Walk away if there are holes there. Do what James said and also look behind the rear wheels.

If it has hot starting issues, you are in for some fun diagnostics.

The stock Nikki carb system is awful out of the box and the recirculating ball steering is lame, but overall they are pretty simple and robust cars. The two things that WILL kill them (rust notwithstanding) are being overheated or run low on oil, so ask questions accordingly.

Went to look at it.Way too much rust in the rear fender wells. Also on leading edge of hood.Too much for me to fix.Don't need another project.Walked away.
