So,

When I was putting lotsa miles on my car, I would always run up on the mileage change interval quickly. (60k miles)

Is there a max time limit on the timing belt? The current belt has been on the car about 10 years.

My factory shop manual says NOTHING about the need or time interval for belt changes. (The only weak link in the manual that I have found.)

Is there a visual inspection standard for these belts?

All info is appreciated

Belts are cheaper than engines. I'd figure 10k miles/year as a conversion factor.

my Integra was 10 yrs old … only 85k miles .. it finally dawned on me that the T belt might need changing before the 100k called out maint… asked a Honda specialty shop .. their response was … yep, you're on borrowed time

so it would probably be a good idea to go ahead and change it

In the great white north, 7 years was the official Honda line through the 90's. On their belts, at that time, it seemed more important than mileage.

Age is a bigger issue than miles. Sorry...

I think Hondas recommendation is 90k, but at 10 years if take the afternoon to do it for cheap insurance.

I change T belts on my civic when its recovered after being stolen- ends up being about every four or five years.

Belt, water pump, idler....

Get'em all from Honda? Good alternates?

I think I heard that the crankshaft bolt is a B**** to get off...Any recommendations for removal?

The Gates kit should be fine if you don't want to spend dealer money. Crank bolt, Honda engines spin backwards so the starter trick wont work if I'm thinking right. So your options are to stand on the brakes with it in gear, or make up a tool to hold the pulley. Or impact gun, though that doesn't help you (properly) get it back in.

I put 170k on my last one over the course of 11 years. Changed it a couple months ago. I use Honda belts, water pumps, cam & crank seals. I think they're actually manufactured by Gates, but I may be mistaken. Cheap insurance AFAIC. YMMV.

Bando made the ones for the A series Honda engines. I have one I pulled off of a 150,000 mile engine that still looked fine. No way in hell would I chance one half that far, though.

So....

Is the crankshaft bolt left hand threads? Based on the engine rotation and the pictorials, it looks like it should be. (No comments either way in the descriptions.)

The spec I remember is for my '93 civic is 90,000 miles or 7 years. That is from memory.
