The 928 must be my unicorn car then. I've never seen a nice one in person. In fact, there are three of them on ebay motors within 100 miles of me. One is a pretty nice example for 20k and the other two are parts cars. There must not be many in this part of the country.

As an auto enthusiast I'm generally open to anything, but every 928 I've seen in real life has been terrible. Much like the 3rd gen camaro I suppose. There are a bunch of nice ones somewhere, but around here they're beat to crap and have "cragers" with huge junkyard tires on the rear axle.

I heard somewhere that it was the stiffest unibody car ever built.

V8 + stiff chassis + RWD... that equals fun to me.

In fact... how about a turbine-powered 928... http://jalopnik.com/390262/turbine+powered-porsche-928

80% of the 928's sold in the US were automatics.

And, I too, wish I had never sold my 82. All black, leather interior, polished rims and a joy to drive.

Im chasing down a lead on another one that is supposed to be a manual, and very cheap as well.. awesome cars, one day i will have one i can actually drive..
