I need some Porsche expert help. The bracket for the speed and reference sensors on my 944NA broke so I need to go through the gap setting process. I have conflicting advice. Clark's Garage says you set the gap on the speed sensor. The parts diagram shows two different shims available - 0.3 and 2mm, I think - that go on the speed sensor, and somewhere I read getting the right one is critical (how do you know, there was none when I took this apart) and you then set the gap on the reference sensor. Has anyone done this before?

Try the 944 tech forum on Pelican Parts, they've pretty much done everything 944. Good luck, those sensors always seem to be a PIA.

That's where I am getting the difference in opinion. I hate to keep asking the same question there.

I thought you were only on Clark's garage, try doing another search or just ask again. there's not as much traffic as there used to be over there. They are pretty good guys I'm sure someone has an answer.
