Typical crappy Jalopnik reporting. They weren't banned for being too fast, but rather too well-funded. They've got big OE sponsors making that thing work and are entered in basically an amateur category. It would be like buying a new 911 GT3 Cup and having Porsche deliver it to a LeMons race.
