Figured I'd bump this for the lulz, I knowingly purchased an Abarth, but a $10k discount definitely trumped the fiST being the better car. 
Any updates?
I'm seeing Abarths pop up on Autotrader for less than $11k now.
I'd love to pick one up for a second car. Driving a Wrangler everyday on 80mph freeways is losing it's appeal
It seems like everybody agrees the FiST is the better car but I can't deny that the Abarth seems to have more soul. I haven't driven either but I have seen every video review on the 'net. Multiple times. I don't know how you can drive the Abarth and not smile.
I ended up with a FiST. The high seating position of the Abarth was a deal breaker for me.
I'm closing in on 30k miles I believe, still love every minute I drive it. A week ago I did replace the Pirelli tires with Yokohama S-Drive's that were cheap on Tire Rack. Just a touch smoother ride with the same grip and handling.
