Advice for contacting a seller

So, I've been looking for a sport package 05+ gx470 (not black) for 2 years now. I got an alert on friday that there was a silver one for sale with mark levinson audio, entertainment, nav, and kdss. Kdss is a system in which the swaybars are adjustable from in the vehicle in real time. This complimented by the air bag suspension alllows a wide variety of talents both on and off road. Low ride height and stiff sways for the highway and tall, soft, flexy for off road. Perfect for my needs. The kdss package is rare A/F, I've been looking for (as I said) 2 years and have found 3 including this one, the other two were black (I'm never doing a black car again, especially an suv). 

I contacted the seller, she took several hrs to get back to me and said we could meet up the next day at 6pm, I replied with "where should we meet", she didn't get back to me till 6:15 pm the next day. She replied that she had a stomach bug or food poisoning and couldn't make the meet. I asked if someone else could show the car and that I was ready to buy. (Her asking price is Super reasonable considering the package). She never even read the correspondence, or the following one which was a Phillip j Fry meme holding cash.  I desperately want this truck for my overland build and don't know what to do. 

What sayeth the hivemind?

Just to level-set, you didn't actually send the Philip J Fry "shut up and take my money" thing, did you? 'Cause that would be confusing and/or offputting for a lot of folks.

I"m guessing that after she saw that one she's going to ignore you....you came on a little too strong.

I would not know what that meme means. Sometimes being to cute backfires. Also if you have the stomach bug and it is the kind that has you going from both ends not much else is important. You need to chill out a bit. To you it is a unicorn to them it is just a truck.

If she gets back to you, she gets back to you. 

If she doesn't, she doesn't. 

I know this sounds glib, but it isn't. Plenty of ways for this to go sideways, and it may have never been quite straight to begin with.

I may very well have sent the phillip fry meme. I thought it might break through with some humor. She hasnt even read the correspondence after her last one. I had both my gf, and my buddy pose as buyers to see if it was just me and she did the same thing to them, unread, no response. I think I'm s-o-l unless she gets back to me.  It's a. Bummer. I would have payed +$5000 of her asking price if the truck was straight. 

That one, only with no text. I thought it might be funny to her. Maybe not huh? Lol. 

Just text one more time and apologize for being a pest, assure her that you’re in a position to buy, give her all your contact information, wish her well with her illness and politely ask that she contact you as soon as she feels comfortable.

She may be getting blown up with potential buyers and is trying to figure out her next move.  All you can do is let her know that you are very interested at full price and have cash in hand whenever she is "feeling better" aND ready to meet. Maybe she will get back to you after one or two people try to lowball her. Hopefully  you can send the message via text and email.

She already has two messages that she hasn't looked at.  I'm really not sure how another one would help. 

It's far from clear where this is for sale, but the fact that you think you can tell whether she has read your messages makes me think that this is on FB. Or possibly a forum 

But she may well have seen the messages no matter where they were sent.  

Like I said, I would let it go.  It's like trying to get someone to date you after they have "ghosted" you.  Nothing good will come of it.

All  I can say is that some people don’t check their  messages often, like not even every day or more.

Im in semi-disbelief but a friend of mine goes days without checking his texts. My brother does this as well.

And this is when they’re healthy!

I agree.  But I don't know how a third message will help that. 

It may have already sold at this point, if it truly was for sale. 

Or you might see it for sale in a couple days for a much higher price. 

I've learned that it isn't worth it to chase too hard.  If the seller is legit, you'll hear back.

My solution was twofold: 1) to “make up” or clarify  for the picture that was sent and 2) to finalize things in his head ie: OK, I did as much as I could do, my intentions are now clear, now I can sit back and accept whatever happens knowing there’s no confusion.

The only “help” I was suggesting was to ease his mind that his bases were covered. Whether she replied or not would be up to her and not because of something he said or did/didn’t do.

Someone wishing to hurl stacks of cash at my asking price is going to have me questioning my asking price, retracting my ad and relisting at a higher price after doing better research.

All sport packages are KDSS - so not really that rare, plus even if not advertised as a "Sport Package", if it has the gray interior trim it is a sport package and a KDSS.

When I wanted a GX, they were readily available in the Milwaukee area for 7-11k depending on year, miles, and condishinz.

Test drove one and between the small interior, awkward rear door, and poor MPG, I went with an 06 Land Cruiser.  Good choice in my opinion.

Been looking for a sport pack thats not black for 2years now. They seem Very rare to me. The vehicle is on fb marketplace and as such I can see if she's read the messages and she has not. Two people who seem unrelated to me have tried to contact her with the same results. I think there's nothing that can be done. 

This is a strange thread. 

Is FB the same as CL for people placing phony ads? I've never understood what they get out of it besides phone #'s or email addresses.  If it is a smoking deal and they don't respond it is possible it's not real. Good luck on a return call and hope it is real and available.
