another $500 car race series?

One of the google ads I just saw was for the "ChumpCar World Series". It looks similar to Lemons, but with a claim rule ($1500) to prevent cheating, and no car destruction....they'll dismantle it, instead, letting the competitors re-assemble it and keep racing. Oh, and claimed cars are auctioned off, with the proceeds going to charity.

The people involved claim to have participated in Lemons, and to have been involved with promotion of the Lemons early on. I've never heard of this series...Have I been living under a rock or is this brand new? Have they actually held any races? If so, have any members of the GRM board attended or participated?

No, this is NOT a canoe. I've been watching the lemons and considering saving up to do it, but decided not to because of the possibility of the car being destroyed. I'm just wondering if this is legit.

This is sacred ground. ChumpCar would never do anything to compete with the famed 12-Hours of Sebring… so we’re running the “Not Quite 12-Hours of Sebring” – 11 hours and 31 minutes on Saturday. On Sunday, we’re having sprint races... that is, if your car's still running!

$50 bux to race sebring till your arms are falling off , hmm definetly need to see about this

haha, ya i can tell people i race in an enduro at Sebring, just wont tell them what kind of car....

hmm seems to me this would be an awesome race to buy a bomber or other fairly stock class roundy round car used and race... just make sure to have them do different recipts for the cage and for the car... i've got a stinger class with a low millage engine that needs a new radiator and governer on the trans... want $500 for it... already has the cage (assuming it meets specs)
