What ever happened to the Martini Metro?
That was originally my car. I painted it back in like 2007 and sold it later that year to Mazdax605 from GRM... I think he had it for a while and then sold it to someone else on the forum. That owner started putting a V8 in the back of it and then sold it on to someone else. I have no idea where the car is now, but I would love to know!
Odd...when I put the K&N in my big Ford truck, I put the sticker on the aircleaner box so the next guy would know not to toss it...
I see your point alfadriver. I don't find the car phenomena that interesting, though. I do find it interesting how people wear clothes with a brand name across them and that makes it cool to wear that brand. When you are really just promoting that brand even more. I say this while wearing a t shirt that says FOX across the front of it. So, like you, I don't look at it as good or bad, just interesting.
As for stickers, everyone knows that stickers boost the performance of performance parts by 50%. Especially a NOS sticker. Which automatically gives any car at least 50 billion rwhp!
PS As far as the Jager livery I think that brands like Jager and Redbull are the liveries that my generation (the 20-somethings) will remember. Just like Martini, marlboro, etc. of generations past.
When I got married, my wife and I went into the liquor store to pick out our champagn for the reception, I took a gander over at the shelf and said "that one!" When I saw the Martini bottle. Not so much because I'm such a huge fan, but mostly for the fact that it was the only brand I had ever heard of.
See kids? Alcohol advertising works!
In reply to Bench Racer (BowtieBandit):
Yep, I ALWAYS buy Martini Asti when I need to pop bottles. It is pretty tasty if you ask me.
Thread needs more Livery win!

That Lancia will tell you exactly where the lines down the side of my car came from One cool thing about the Martini livery is that it was always adapted to the vehicle. I've actually got a book from the 80's about Martini Racing, and it has a chapter on designing the livery.
TuffWork's comments about how the whippersnappers are going to identify with Red Bull etc got me thinking. I don't remember actually watching any Martini cars race with the exception of the WRC Focii. I do remember cheering on Rothmans Porsches at both the Showroom Stock and Le Mans levels, even going to the point of painting a transformer 956 from McDonalds in the Rothmans colors to match the poster on my wall. But still, when I had to paint my own car, Martini it was
Not a dry Martini.

I had forgotten that they sponsored boats, too.
No one replicates this. I love it.

It kicked ass.
It took names.
What did you think would happen?
A guy in my town has one like that...Except it's painted in a Viagra livery. Seriously.

BTW--this is ALL BUSINESS. Damn, that's mean.
Why do I feel the need to paint something with outrageous colors now?
I'm thinkin my REVO 3.3 (nitro RC car for the uneducated) is gonna need a new body soon anyway!

I got spousal approval yesterday to put Martini stripes on our big white Dodge
I quickly read that as "big white dog..."
