Anybody have a shop recommendation for an 07 accord in the Cleveland (west side) area?

My dad is fighting an O2 sensor code and an EVAP code.  He replaced the O2 and it immediately sets the code again after resetting.  His current backyard mechanic has some kind of scanner that can tell the "EVAP valve" (I assume purge valve) to open and close but "it wasn't responding".  This led his mechanic to think it was a computer issue for some reason.  I have no idea of this guy's competence, but it's been 2+ months and he can't figure it out.

I'm sure I could help figure it out, but I don't speak Honda, and I've got enough of his other E36 M3 on my plate that I'm not sure I want to sign up for that.  TIA.

Honda evap systems are voodoo.  There is the purge solenoid, but also a couple other solenoids that isolate the canister from the tank so it can in theory tell you where a leak is, in reality you end up replacing everything because nothing will come out of the canister without things breaking.

O2 might be crappy parts, might be wiring, might be ECM.  Needs testing.  If it sets the code right away, then testing should be easy.

Yup, sounds like exactly the kind of thing that should be farmed out to someone who knows these, God knows they made enough of them.

Is this something you guys do?  I got the impression you worked on nicer stuff, but I'll be happy to suggest paying a bit more to just get this figured out by someone who knows what they're doing.  We can talk offline if needed.

Alternative Solution is the Honda shop on the east side that I know of. Maybe they know their west side counterpart?

Happy to take an east side recommendation over guessing after wading thru thousands of useless posts online.

Mechanic reviews seem to be the only thing less reliable than Yelp reviews.

I took my Acura there once years ago and the experience was fine. At the time they wouldn't even work on my wife's Mazda, only Honda or Toyota so it was definitely their specialty. I don't have any up-to-date info on them though.

Is the Honda shop in North Olmsted still there? I'm blanking on the name but he used to be big into World Challenge.

Galati maybe?

I have only ever seen MGs and Porsches there.
