Just picked up a few over the weekend.  Not surprisingly, they were mostly Dodge Truck related.  (But check out that MidCentury Mod '58 Chrysler ad!)

First year for the "Tin Grille Dodge truck.  A design that would last for 11 years.

Don Knotts has a conflict with Multiple Personality Disorder over what his Sweptline is all about.

A "Job-Rated" era panel truck

Of course, you know I can't pass up a Route Van

And check out the aforementioned Forward Look Chrysler Windsor with mid-year Dartline trim!

Pretty sure we all do. I have old automotive ads framed and hanging in my office. They are cool.

For a couple years while Don Knotts was working as a spokesman for Dodge trucks, they were selling a model with a sport trim package called the Dude.  :)

I bought a few at swap meets when I had the old Dodge.

When I was a kid, my aunt and uncle had a library of old National Geographic issues dating back to the turn of the 20th century in their sun room. When they used to babysit, I would sit in there for hours on end, scouring the old magazines for the ads. My favorites came from the Malaise Era.

When my uncle was in the hospital recently before his passing, someone had left a bunch of old 80's travel magazines in the waiting room. And you know I looked through there for the ads!

My aunt remembered the times we sat in the sun room looking at the old magazines, and started crying, saying I haven't changed a bit. Nope, I haven't. smiley

But the ad is correct.  Mom never liked foreign cars or convertibles.

Is there a website with old Ads from Europe , Australia or Japan ?

I had a stack of 1960s car magazines from Denmark  ,  it was neat to see all the road tests , ads for products I never saw  and neat race car ideas.....

Now we have google translate but back then  you were out of luck unless you went word  to word ,

When I bought my RX7, it came with tons of adds and rotary rocket magazines.  Way cool to look through.  It included a few ads that were the exact specs of my car.

Bet they are on low beam by now....devil  (45 years later).

And even the presence of scantily clad women couldn't make anyone like that rubber lipped flying doorstop (TR7).

Although completely nude young ladies certainly enhanced the TVR exhibit at  shows (are we allowed to post unclad models here?)

i really loved all the snarky volvo adds from the 90s.  They seemed to be on top of their game during the 240 model.
