The real question here: Do you paint the underhood mural on the rear hood or the frunk hood?

I’ll send you a dollar if it helps make this happen.
I'll contribute a dollar too!
I know 3 owners. All 3 are in the shop, one with a snapped axle, 2 with locked up transmissions. All stock, all street driven. 16 fault codes on one transmission....

That's impressive. It doesn't seem to matter as the General is making it hard to have a midlife crisis, I couldn't even find one to test drive locally. Meanwhile I have friends offering all kinds of other bad ideas that don't have months of waiting. Too bad to, I played around on the website and the one I want is about $63k. That's probably very close to reachable.
Yeah, uh, DO IT. You've had a rough year. You can afford to buy a new Corvette. You want a new Corvette. Time to buy a new Corvette.

I already have New Balances. When you turn 45 a pair shows up on your porch.
BERK! I've only got 3 and a half years. BERK!
All Stars 4 lyfe.

That's a great looking car... But.... If GM won't sell you one, there are plenty of other (mostly used) cars for $63 large that will go fast, look good and comfortably eat up highway miles.
For my money I'd get the nicest used Cayman S with a stick and n/a flat 6 I could find. If you did that then you'd be the bus driver with the Porsche ;)
Challenge question, if we convince Wally to start a GoFundMe and we as a community provide the funds for him to get a c8 even though he has the means to, would it be challenged legal?
Because I'd like to see that happen.

...and roll around in the $15k you have left over.

I'm not sure there are any for sale, and won't be for awhile as the line was shut down.

Ferris Bueller, you're my hero
Also, as a 'Vette owner, you will have to come up with a vanity plate that you think is clever but really isn't clever at all.

At the very least it would include an entry as an exhibition.

Every dealer in the area lists one as on the way, then when you call says it's spoken for but they can order another one. 8 months is a long time to wait for an impulse buy, I could have lost my money, or finished the pile of parts in my garage by then,

lost the money? Perhaps. Finished a pile of parts? That's talking foolish.
I really liked my C5Z and for the price difference you could buy 3 low mileage garage queens vs the C8. And its at the bottom of the depreciation curve. Thought I'd throw that out as a more practical option as opposed to actually indulging that C8 lust...
