I have read the AR5 from solstice and (MA5) Colorado's are pretty similar to jeep ax15 transmissions.

The question is will a jeep transfer case, specifically a NV 247 from a wj bolt up to a colorado manual 4x4 transmission?

The end goal would be to end up with a full time AWD ecotec.

How about a BW4493? Should be easier to mate since it was available with the MA5 in the Hummer H3.

Shooting from the hip here: I believe the input shafts vary by application. Be it an r154, ax15 ar5 etc.

Also, the shifter is on the tail housing in these trans and are unique by application: you would need a 4wd shifter not 2wd tail housing/shifter.

I would assume the easiest way forward is to get an ax15 from a mtx jeep with the transfer case, then attack the input shaft/shifter placement variances. I only recall the np231 coming on the manual trans 6cyl jeep, can't comment on what could swap.

For real data I have a 2wd 1994 2.5 Dakota r154/ax15 derivative in my garage I could get you pictures and measurements from.

Good luck, and share what you learn.

In reply to newrider3 :

I looked at those. Looks like a good option but quite a bit more expensive than the jeep units.

Thanks. I am a ways off on this project but I like the thought of it, if I can get everything out together with out much hassle.

I have a 2wd colorado trans and a solstice trans as well just not one of the 4x4 units.
