Anyone on here have any insight (not insight, prius) on how a 50 shot would effect my prius? There are two factors that make me nervous...

1) atkinson cycle engine and spray. There seems to be No information about the effects of nitrous on the atkinson engine.

2) synergy drive. Will the electric part of the drive interfere with the process of making more power?

3) I know all of this is crazy. The car rarely needs more power to do it's job, but it would be nice to have more squirt when needed.

Maybe some of the Lexus guys have messed with it? I know my wife has never asked me to put a NOS kit on hers, but depending on how this thread goes, it may just be her (my) Christmas present.

The Prius uses VVT to switch out of atkinson cycle mode at full throttle. Presuming the nitrous kit is activated with a WOT switch, it'd probably be OK.

So what about the electric motors? I read that there is a possible roadblock there.

I have read that too. The torque from the electric motor would be limited resulting in no net power increase. I read it on the internet so it must be correct.

Nitrous on a Prius. I love this community!

I really hope that we're reading conjecture. I'm having a hard time finding info.

Maybe it'll just charge the E36 M3 out of the batteries.
