I know this is inherently not done, but in building a autox car. A car STRICTLY for autox, is there a real detriment to running a ERW cage? Cost wise its a big savings, weight wise you should save some as well. However, in a budget minded approach is it worth the near double the cost to have a DOM cage in a autox car?

What is your varying opinions?

My car is going to be an autocross car, but the thought of maybe wanting to do a hill-climb or something else I hadn't thought of made me go DOM.

I planned for the unexpected. Not something I normally do when it comes to cars.

True, I MAY......take it to a track event, though I have doubts. I live where a hill climb is driving straight for 60 miles to make it 5 foot in elevation so that never entered my head :).

If I sell the car, I guess it would make sense to have the DOM in there.
