If you're around your television this weekend, you may want to check out the next episode of Meguiar’s Car Crazy. They came around the office a few weeks back to check out some of the local shows and attractions, including a stop at GRM World Headquarters.
Check your local listings, but according to the Speed website it should air at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night and again at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
Here's the listing on Speed's site.
cool - put it on my dvr a while back hoping to catch this!
Is he the Close Talker he appears to be on TV?
It makes me uncomfortable just watching him.
He seems like a genuine nice guy, but, geez, back up dude!

At first glance, I read that as Barry Manilow for whatever reason.
At first glance, I read it as a one hit wonder '60s pop star:

"Eve of Destruction"

That's the first thing that came to mind.
Is he as creepy in person as he is on TV?
My friend is a product engineer at Barry's competitor and gave me some free stuff to try.
I hate to break the news to my buddy but I do like Meguiar's products better.
You guys don't really expect GRM to be able to answer or respond to any of your questions do you? No matter what they say, they have a problem.

What's our problem?
I didn't find Barry creepy, but I was never within arm's reach of him. You know, with the tattoos and all he probably found ME creepy.
I'll say this about Barry.....
He is impeccably groomed. I mean his hair is perfect, his nails professionally manicured, his clothing in place. He is completely detailed. Just as you would expect from a guy who sells products to make your car clean and spotless.
He is also very gracious, and super nice. I've met him a few times now, and he is always friendly and courteous.
It was pretty cool to have him, and his camera team here at the GRM HQ.
Just thinking about the close talking thing, and someone with real TV experience can answer, but on TV don't you kind of have to be a close-talker? If not, how do you get both people in the shot? And having Barry Manilow her would have been cool, too, although I'm more of a Neil Diamond fan myself.

This.
Check out your local evening news team some day. Look how close they're actually sitting to each other. Chances are there's about a fist-width between their shoulders. Now actually sit next to someone like that. It's pretty tight quarters.

Congratulations GRM on TV nice

Y'know, I've considered that, but in other cases it doesn't give me the heebie jeebies. Yet, with Barry, it makes it difficult for me to watch the show. All the time I'm thinking "dude, get out of his face!" and "I bet that guy knows exactly what Barry had for lunch!" Maybe it's because he is taller than most folks and tends to lean over them.
That chick on "What's My Car Worth" makes me nervous, too. All that poppin' and lockin' and jerkin' going on while she is talking.
Maybe I'm just too sensitive to such things and need to spend more time working in the garage and less time watching TV.
i think he should co-host a show with Dennis Gage... that show would have just the right creepy/weird ratio to make it entertaining.
I think Barry and Dennis' shows are pretty decent. They don't have that feeling like they are selling a product to me like the other shows.
I always thought if you could combine a show like Dennis and Barry and throw that guy who did the 6-7 marquis specific videos that were awesome (??? they used to adverise in CM) toss in some cool Japanese Nostalgic Cars + Bring a Trailer + Grassroots + Classic Motorsports and wrap it all up into a show? That would be what I would watch.

You mean Alain de Cadenet and his Victory by Design series? Oh man, those dvd's were the reason I bought a sound system for the TV. Crankin' it up whenever he hit the throttle!
Dennis' show is OK, but in my theme of stuff irritating me, his giggling is on the list. As long as you FF the Grundy/Racedeck/Steele/Paul's Chrome five minute commercial in the middle, then, no, he isn't pushing product.

You are thinking of Alan De' Cadenet. He starred in the awesome Victory by Design series. Those films are some of my favorite automotive videos ever. The last time I spoke with him (incredibly nice guy) he said they were working on a Ford one. I haven't seen it yet, but the others are fantastic!
yes - Victory by Design. Those were wonderfully done.

I have the Ferrari episode saved on my Tivo and watch it every now and then. I'm not a tifoso by any means, but that was the best looking and sounding Victory by Design IMHO.

you mean other than the show being called "Mequiar's Car Crazy" and the "Mequiar's" shirt he's always wearing?

You are right.
But his shows are not like the other shows that want to "tell" me about a new product they discovered while working on a car. Two Guys Garage is okay until the commercials start.
