That '73 dart also has two holes in it, one on passenger side and the other on driver side rear quarter
Starting in 1969 the Swinger was a trim line/model of Dart. By '73 all the 111" wheelbase 2-door Darts were Swingers. 108" wheelbase were the Dart Sports (or Demon in '71-72). Around the time all the 111" wheelbase Darts got the Swinger badge, the 4-door got labeled Custom. So if you see an ad for a Dart Custom and no pics, it's not a hot rod, it's a 4-door.
Other than the rust, I'd lean toward the gold '73 Dart than the blue one. Both are priced on the high side.
You keep getting drawn to Novas. I'd say follow your calling. I agree with Datsun's advice above.
Yea, I feel that Nova calling me. '73 is the sweet spot for me imo, anything before that is too expensive for a decent one. If I can get into a nice condition '73 that only needs TLC for 4,000-4,500 id be a happy guy. If anything I can resell it here in North Carolina for $30,000 cause that's what people here think they are worth HAHA (jk)

I'll actually take the car in the background! Back in about '98 I picked up an '81 Prelude for $100. Needed a little work, and I drove the hell out of that thing. 35mpg without trying, and a sunroof that almost went from front to back. I sold it for $700. Awesome little car.
Coldsnap, If '73 is your sweetspot, $3500 ought to buy you a near show car. That year is about the low point of "muscle cars".

I posted that car because it was the best car for your original post/budget. You decided at that time that you only wanted to spend $3500....
the heater hoses are cut off near the firewall. so at the bare minimum it needs a heater core, plus it's been owned by someone who thinks a legit fix for a leaking heater core is to cut the hoses at the firewall and just leave the stubs sticking out. what else has been hacked?

stock '72 Nova for $15,500.. and ppl say i can get a showcase nova for $5,000!
someone call that dude and let me know if the car is legit lol, hard to sess someoneout like that when you know 0 about cars.

Just because someone asks $15.5 doesn't mean it's worth that much. Some people have starry eyed dreams of what their car is really worth.
No, you may not get a show winning car for $5k, but wise shopping will get you something really nice (I was exaggerating a bit in my earlier post). I haven't read all the pages in this thread, but I think that's the direction most people were trying to point you.
Just doing a quick search for Novas in my area yieled the following. Well within your price range. You'd obviously have to do your homework, it could turn out to be junk.

Point is that as long as you're willing to buy something that the general muscle car community doesn't see as a more "desirable" car, you can get a lot for your money.
So for $67 I can catch a train to ATL and pick up that car, if the dude accepts my $4,000 offer. I just hope the car isn't junk. Pictures look good.. Like I said it's hard to sess out a car as a beginner.
With a GRM contingent in the ATL, I don't think anyone would pass up free beer and eats or some $$ to view the car for you if they have time.
Where should I post the offer and what would be a fair price? Paid through paypal gift payment. I'm not looking for a complete car checkup, but if someone could check the obvious stuff and sess out the car.

72 was the last year for the "good" looking novas. That front end is very different than what you're looking at.
Those will always pull a premium over the mid70's designs.

This seemed like a decent price? It looks like the buyer backed out too and its back up on eBay.
