I'm ready to order parts to freshen up a Toyota paseo engine, local parts stores have some silly pricing it seems up here.

Just went thru and priced everything wanted at rockauto but they want me to pay $160 in shipping charges and I can't select USPS for shipping which annoys me,otherwise the prices and options are good.

If someone has a better online source I'm all ears.

Thanks in advance.

It's actually a royal PITA to get USPS working on a website. Can you order by phone and ask about USPS from Rockauto?

Ship to a fellow GRM person just over the border. Take a little drive?

Unfortunately, we pretty much have to suck it up

RockAuto sometimes offers USPS and sometimes doesn't. It seems to be up to the warehouse you get.

I wish everyone would ship with USPS.

For particularly large orders, I usually send them to a border warehouse, drive down and pick them up. But that only makes sense if you'll pay less in tax and duty and time than shipping. Tires are the big-ticket item I usually travel for. Unfortunately, the dollar sucks right now.

Its 4 hour drive just to the border for me so a day wasted in the car plus fuel/food etc costs mean reasonable shipping is the only option.

USPS has always been the better method for cross border shopping in my experience but did just order a custom tune from a company in Georgia shipped via USPS and the tracking has me baffled.Went to Miami then to fort worth and on to Vancouver....I live in Ontario.

It left Vancouver 8 friggin days ago with no updates on its location since.

Tom I have a shipping address in Niagara Falls NY. We make fairly regular trips across the border to pick up parts for ourselves as well as other car guys. If you want to ship the stuff there we can pick it up on our next run. You just have to reimburse us for any taxes paid at the border and put a few dollars towards gas. I'm just south of Peterborough so you won't be wasting a full day to pick your parts up. PM me if you're interested.

Once it crosses the border, try putting the USPS number into the Canada Post tracker. Usually works for me

I bought your dwarf car project a while ago. I'm with OMSC. We've run at a few events together but not in the same class.

I now have a shipping address in Pt. Huron Mi. Free Shipping, $5.00 a package to take delivery. Boarder seems to let me through as long as I honestly declare what I am returning with. USPS as opposed to UPS I have found is the cheapest and most efficient delivery if you can't do the border run.

I did that and had parts shipped out of the US. I had no idea I would have the privilege of paying exorbitant brokerage fees.

A Port Huron shipping depot has been what I've used.
