OK guys, I have about 3" of space between the rad and the pulleys in the Ford 5.0 powered 1st gen RX7, which fan either in combo or single would you recommend? Which brands are reliable?

Who is using what and with which results......

I have a 3 core rad, RX7 oil cooler, and remote oil filter system, to give an idea of the setup

I love my FAL 220 fan setup. Very thin and moves a ton of air. Been using them for probably 5 years now with no issues at all. They are 2 1/4 deep, you aren't going to find anything in he junkyard anywhere near that thin.

Take a look at SPAL fans. I see that RacerPartsWholesale has SPAL 10", 13" and 16" fans that are 2.05" tall. They also list an 11" fan that's 2.5" tall. I've been using twin 11" SPAL fans for 7 years on my 11.7:1 SR20DE 510 with VW VR6 radiator with zero issues. I'm in SoCal. -Ted

Ford Taurus 2-speed electric fan. They're about 2.5" to 2.75" wide. Very commonly used in Datsun SBC swaps.

I used a pusher fan on my 2nd jen RX. May be this is an option that would negate the thickness problem on your 1st gen.

Intrepid/Concord twin fans are thinner than Taurus 2-spd, but wider. Becoming popular with the S-Series truck SBC swaps.
