That GTI is sweet!
Can't help but think that it and the Me-otter would have pulled more pesos on Cars & Bids - they are right in that site's demographic.
I always wanted a TR6, my much older brother bought one new when he got out of college. This one would be just about prefect. "You're killing me Smalls!"
Perhaps I'm just growing old, but man the Mercedes sure is looking good! Too bad that it's probably going to sell for 2-3X my budget.

Can vouch for the TR-6. Every time I've driven it I've been struck by how thoroughly modern it felt. It feels like a much more spohisticated car than its pedigree would lead you to think.
Screw all these cars....where's the article on the Datsun 510 that was in the background of the TR-3a photo? Get that fixed up and have another sale, and I'm in.
Good luck to Tim on these sales !!

Me too. Luckily I don't have the space.
Such a cool little nugget of automotive history.
I can talk whoever buys the TR6 through an EFI swap. Or just keep it as-is and enjoy it with the carbs and a few power mods. AngryCorvair needs this.
It will be fun to follow along. I thought you were selling the TR3 racecar for a minute. The TR6 is a peach and always enjoyed driving them.

I am afraid to show this listing to my wife. We just added an extra deep and wide 3rd stall on our garage with a high tuck garage door track, unobstructed 9ft ceiling with a MaxJax M7K lift (but not a 4-post stacker, yet). We moved the '99 FRC C5 "warmed over dual purpose" project over to its new home - now both daily drivers can fit into the older 2-car garage. I promised her the next car will be a convertible - anything from a XLR to a this TR6 will fit the bill. This would be about perfect for my dreams - no need for a new aftermarket frame or Ford 302 / T5 / Nissan R200 drive train swap. Drive it the first warm day of ownership.
Resistance maybe futile, but my I must try!
So there's no please don't bid against thing going on with these since it's not fair to GRM. Just saying that so you're not surprised when I snipe your low bidding behind at the last minute.

The TR-6 already has some power mods.
From the build
"JK Jackson built us a head with a bit of porting and decking to raise compression. We went with a GoodParts street cam and kept the powerplant mild for excellent drivability."
it also has SU carbs. I haven't driven it much but it certainly feels "right". Like JG said, it seems much newer than it is. Driving it makes me feel like i should be dressed like this.
In reply to TJL (Forum Supporter) :
I did say "keep it as-is". That is what I'd do. It's set up to be fun and reliable without losing the original character.

No worries. I should have put a smiley face after my clarification.
125 hp on a dyno is very good for a TR6. My bone-stock '73 dynoed at 82 hp and the 1/4 mile time was very close to the factory number.

I'm watching, but at this time I don't have bandwidth (read time and space).
EDIT: If I were to win this auction, could y'all hold it for me til maybe first week of June?
I have a question on the TR3A. The pictures show a 4 cylinder but top of the listing says 2.0 liter 6? Does anyone know if a SBC will fit in a TR3? Also all vehicles have FL title?
