So heading home from the school today I saw a lot with a bunch of interesting 80s Euro cars. I was pretty surprised to find a 1986 BMW 635CSi manual trans LSD for $800. Missing the brake booster but said to be in running condition otherwise. I know Toyman is going to say run but what does the rest of the hive think? And Toyman what were your issues?
It's an E28 underneath and it's a manual. I'd rock it.

How rusty?
Where is it?
He pointed out two spots of surface rust but it appeared pretty clean. It's in Jacksonville, FL. I was half expecting you guys to try and talk me out of it. Forgot where I was.

I find the lack of E24 build threads started by you to be a real disappointment.

Replacement interior parts can be hard to find or expensive, but mechanically they're really robust (as mentioned, the same as an e28 5 series under the skin.) If the car only has a little surface rust it's a deal.

If you decide not to buy it please pass on the info...I have been looking for one for a while
prettiest BMW ever built. Even more so than the M1
Buy, install booster, sell for 2k, throw profit at top secret project?
To the OP: i have an aluminum booster from a later 5 or 7 series, brand new in box, with matching master cylinder, that I will send you for $1 plus shipping. You will have to figure out mounting and plumbing. Reservoir has (uncut) plastic barb for supplying fluid to hydraulic clutch if needed.

I really appreciate the offer but after thinking it over I really just don't need another project right now. I'm working on two projects with a running driving half project waiting plus a full frame up nonrunner project waiting. Just makes no sense to add to the list.
So here's the guys information.

I didn't look the car over really well. What I noticed was poor interior (missing driver's seat that he said he'd throw in), faded paint with the two surface rust spots, and missing brake booster. I didn't look at it very hard and didn't look underneath. If someone wants I will go check it out better. Thanks for everyone that gave advice.
