Would the fault code reader tool work to reset an airbag light on a 2000 540i? If so, I'll take it. Let me know shipping to 92677.
Thanks
Look up an SR300 reset tool, I’m not sure how much it can do. I do have the manual though so I can look.
Looks like it can get codes for every bmw from 1987 to 2000, except a 540i. That being said an airbag should Ben no different than a 528.
If racingsnake passes on the code reader, I'd like to be next in line. Can't get PM's because yahoo, so please post here if he passes.

I just want to reset the oil thing on my e36. If I get it, I will pass it on to you after that.
It reads about 2000 codes, I opened the manual for the first time. I only used it to reset oil change interval lights.
That tool should work for BMWs with round diagnostic port under hood and can work with early 2000's OBD2 port under dash if you can find an adapter cable. I made my own adapter cable from a junkyard round port and a male OBD2 plug.
It won't work for airbag reset. That's a different tool.
Oil light reset on 90's era BMWs can be accomplished with a jumper wire if you know which pins to jump in the round port. Google is your friend.

I use the clip on my e30 but for whatever reason that method does not work on my ‘97 e36 M3. I have tried a thousand different ways with no luck.
