Anyone know of a dimensional equivalent to the Bosch 044 Motorsport fuel pump? It can be lower flowing, but I'm looking for something cheaper that could fit in the same housing and use the same threaded connections...

OK, maybe I need to rephrase...

I need an external, high pressure (injection) fuel pump that accepts threaded fittings on BOTH ends, and looks like it could have been factory on something at some point in it's life... Only an NA 4 cylinder, so I don't need massive amounts of flow.

Any leads?

Been a long time since I had one in my hands, but I think that the Bosch pumps for either K-Jet or LH-Jet Volvo 240 (think 1976-1993, US models) may fit the bill.

The one on my volvo didnt have threaded fittings on both ends.

Almost any external aftermarket pump does, though.

Try one off a Porsche 944. I dont rember if they are threaded but worth a look.

Choose your flow rate: Walbros at Summit Racing

They have a 10mmx1.0 thread. You can get a Russell adapter to AN-6, -8 or 5/16.

I use the 255lph one to feed a 3.2L motor in my race car at 60psi. It never falters.

Yeah I've seen tons of hacked-up old crapcans running this kind of aftermarket pump, are you having trouble finding a specific thread type or is this housing it has to fit into causing a problem?

They've got a hose nipple on the suction side.

Lots of Mercedes used large body Bosch fuel pumps similar to the 044, but with lower rates.

Also, Kinsler publishes fuel flow data in their catalog. They don't tell you what the original pump part numbers are, but most of them are pretty easy to figure out. See page 126+ in their catalog.

Just beware of fakes. I'm having issues with a Walbro that I recently bought, and now I'm seeing posts all over for fake Walbros and 044s...painstakingly crafted right down to the stamped-in logo, with love in China.

I think that threads to the pump? I will have to look at my car it ahs been a while since I was under there.

Hey that Volvo 240 external pump looks like it might fit the bill... anybody know what those threads might be? Looks like one end is externally threaded and one is internal...

Looked up the 944 pumps, most have a suction side hose barb, also $$

So yeah, theory is to add this with a surge tank to our Chumpcar, and all connections have to be threaded AN type... hence the specific requirements :)

The 044 happens to fit in a very particular surge tank from 034 motorsport that has me geekin' out... pricy but super clean.
