I'll give a grand. (Want to see interior pics, though) The title is the issue!
Working on pics! Interior is decent last I saw it, a little mildew but nothing crazy. Its not mine, just a good friend who needs it gone. He is looking for the title.
Will email tomorrow as I need to look at shipping costs to see what the numbers are and if this is a Work able deal. My current Porsche has over 300k on it and I have been looking for a project to replace it.
For shipping I am assuming it is a non running car and that may kill the deal for me but we will see as a running car would be priced accordingly.
Oh unless it has a Kevlar timing belt please don’t try and start it as that belt has aged out by a factor of three at this point. It is not worth risking bent valves
I hope I am first (or at least given an opertunity) as I just called and got a shipping quote from my go to car transport company. Very reasonable for a non running car. It is funny as it is cheaper to ship across the country than from MA to Florida.
What I am looking at is getting this as a project for my son and I. He wants to rebuild my 924s but it has over 300k on it and I have been wanting to get back in a 951 since I sold my last one to fund my first house. (Many years ago at this point). The biggest issue is around here they are either pristine perfect cars or complete rust buckets. Yes they do rust in some specific places even with the galvanized body. This car sounds like with some work could be a great every day car that I would not have to treat as a show car. It is also a very early 951 so it will not have the upgrades that the later ones had making it less desirable to Porsche people.
Glad there is a lot of interest. Let me get some more pics soon. He's not exact a fast mover so give me a little time.
Like I said before, it has a lot of new Lindsey goodies, but the block may be toast for all I know. Assume it's been sitting with water in the cylinders for 8 years.
It's been into a jersey barrier in the front (drivers iirc) and pulled back out with slide hammer, come along and a truck. It's been resprayed. It's on oddball (wrong offset and size) wheels. Suspension is toast.
But no rust at all I have seen (remember it's been 8 years since I crawled all over it) its been stored under a car cover for 5 years and in a storage unit for the last few.
Interior was good as far as I remember, some mildew but not bad.
Back hatch glass is loose, common issue.
hummm basically a rolling Chassie is the starting point. Photos are going to be key as there is basically no chance I could get out there to look at it. Honestly I don’t really care about the go fast parts. At this point they are used speed parts. They depreciate as fast as 7 series BMWs. The car would have more value if it was stock. Do the original parts come with it?
In reply to dean1484 :
No original parts. I think I have the OE ECU chip in my tool box, but that's it.
Realize it's a bent/quick fixed chassis. No suspension or alignment issues tho.
I realize the go fast parts are not worth much, but they are worth about as much as the chassis IMO. They have literally less than 100 miles on them
In reply to dean1484 :
Most exactly..... Manual boost controller, big hill, overboost, blew head gasket, popped rad hose. (young and stupid)
Thought it was just rad hose till it was restarted, water puking out the exhaust. He drove it about 15 miles home and parked it.
Don't count on the title.... Email me, we can discuss more in detail....
Ill say maybe a 10% chance of him finding the title. I love the guy, but hes not exactly good with paper work sometimes.... I told him we want pics, Ill see what I can do to speed that up.
