Almost every HPDE I attend has a few of these cars. Turns out they turn about the same lap times as my mustang so I usually end up running with one and talking to the owner. None of them reported any issues, all reported enjoying them on the track. I want one.
I'm looking forward to driving one of these some day, despite the damning by faint praise going on. As an aside...unless my car has a proven history of NOT blowing up on track, it's getting a baffled oil pan or an Accusump.

I also do....I like this, the new Miata, the Fiesta ST....few other cars....VW is buying back my TDI....my son is now in College 2400 miles away so my need for a family car is diminished....

Would be excellent insurance against a blown motor.
