So I saw on FB a used QuickJack for a $1k. Going off their pics, looks like a 7000 series.
Is it worth saving the $400 off the price of a brand new unit?
Also do folks feel they are worth getting?

Man those have gone up in price. I love my 7000.
that looks to maybe be an older one? Mine has the pump and reservoir in 1 unit. That looks like it has a pump piece and a reservoir piece?
couldn't hurt to make an offer of maybe 800$
I have one, but only because I lost access to the shop that had a real lift. They are Much better than jackstands but you're still on a creeper. Thus, my shop that get built hopefully this April, will have a 2post lift... I agree with TIL, offer em 800 and see what happens.

True, you are still on a creeper and that's a limitation you don't have with a 2 post. OTOH, it depends on how he wants to use it. Next time you take your "real lift" to the track, I want to watch 
I bought one new not long ago. The first power unit would not raise both sides. I finally convinced Bendpak to send me a new one and it works well.
My only complaint so far is that the "quick release" connectors are insanely difficult to get to connect. It gets increasingly difficult to connect them as the struggle with them allows the hydraulic fluid to leak a bit. So then you end up with difficult connectors slathered in slippery fluid. :(
They do serve a purpose though!
Im happy with my $250 set, as they've better than stands. However, at 1k id be looking at used scissor lifts.

Those quick-connects can be asinine. One of mine clicks in easily. The other can be impossible if your hands aren't completely dry and you haven't yelled the exact right combination of swear words. However, neither has ever leaked a drop. I believe there might be some wide range of tolerances in the manufacture of those connectors. Oh, and pretty smart idea putting them on cardboard to slide into position.

All of my quick connects are a major PITA! And yes, the cardboard helps slide them around better. It also helps protect the floor.
Well, SWMBO and I had a chat over breakfast and she didn't like the idea of buying a used one and it's also missing parts.
So I believe I'll be getting a new 5000 series along with their 0% financing.
In support of that decision I feel like $400 isn't enough to offset the disadvantages and risks of a used lifting device like that. But man those things have gone up in price! I paid $1800 for my MaxJax and I think they list for literally twice that now so it's not isolated to the QuickJack.
Keep an eye out for sales. I got mine from home depot for a good price with 6 months zero finance. i think costco is the place to get them now.

Measure what cars you'll be lifting carefully and if you can, my advice is to go #7000. It'll do everything the 5000# will do plus it'll lift it a smidge higher if I remember correctly. Also, all of these were updated a year or so ago (model numbers all changed) and lift higher than the old ones did. Check Walmart.com. When I got mine they had the best deal.

Earlier this year Costco was the place to buy. With wall mounts and truck/SUV lifting provisions a 7000TL was under $1700 delivered. Not cheap by any means but not the worst.
Actually right now, Bendpak / Quickjack has them on sale till the end of the month with 0% financing.
Well, a 7000TL has just been ordered.

I bought mine from Wrenchers.com which is apparently Bendpak, as the shipper and customer service are all Bendpak. Looks like they're having a 10% sale right now too.
Well, they have arrived but having way too much fun cleaning up the flooded basement to open them up.
I bought my 5000TL at Quickjack in the Refurbished section for $1200 with shipping and a one year warranty. I see the 7000TL is $1350. Not a scratch on it. My Mazda is securely on it now. Boy... I should have made this a priority years ago!
