It runs, needs a radiator and some TLC. The soft top is junk. And the best part ? $1000
Plan: If the front frame legs are solid I'll tidy it up and sell my current car. If the legs are rotten it will become the engine donor for my TE27 Corolla Challenge build....maybe.....if I don't wander off in another direction. If it's solid it could be a good rallycross car, or track rat. I really won't know until I have it home and torn apart. For $1000 I just took my chances. I can always part it out for more than I paid.
I mean this in the nicest possible way, but "you suck"!
Congrats on the new addition and post up some pics...
I'll have to figure out the whole picture posting thing, especially if I start putting this drive train in the Corolla.
Nice! You can more than make that back parting it even if you don't actually use it for its intended purpose.
I still dunno where you guys find these deals.

In reply to Duke:
In this case, the seller posted on my local Miata club's Facebook page. I replied 2 minutes later, just ahead of several other replies over the next hour. I "lost" a MINI CooperS to SVRex 2 or 3 years ago because I took 5 minutes to Google a replacement supercharger. He took the 5 minutes to call the seller and commit to buying it. You have to recognize a bargain and pull the trigger. Just be prepared for spousal questions like "Where did you get that $1000?", or "Which car are you selling?". I got both last night. Be vague, really really vague.

And it's a supercharged BP at that. If you end up parting, and I doubt that you will, let me know. The world needs more twin charged BP motors.

Great, I have a fortified BP-4W going together with ARP head and main studs that I was going to turbo. Now I have thoughts about build a twin-charged BP. Thanks for that.

The teeth are available. I need to sell off stuff for Challenge budget reasons, so $100, shipping included. Any takers? Huh? Eh? Don't everyone speak at once !
Finally got the car home and have had some time to inspect it. The driver's side rocker was professionally repaired a couple of years ago, the passenger side will need a patch in the usual spot. The front frame legs are solid, this is a problem on winter driven NBs up here. The rest of the underside is in better shape than my other Miata (hooray!!), so this one may become my main Miata. Scored a free radiator, so that's next. Interior needs some TLC and the top is crap. Still pretty happy with the purchase.
The thing came with a K&N air filter that was as dirty as any filter I've ever seen, so I'm attempting to wash it out with dish detergent. Any suggestions for a stronger solution ? What type of oil do you restore one of these things with, rather than just buying one of K&N's kits?
I've always just bought the cleaning kit. Then I don't have to wonder if I'm going to ruin the air cleaner.

This, and rinse it really, really well before you reinstall. When I was a stupid newb, I cleaned mine, rinsed it once and installed it. First time I drove it in the rain and it started pulling wet air through the filter, my intake pipe ended up looking like this:
Needless to say, the MAF was less than excited about this development.
Oh, and nice deal/steal!
